Privacy Policy

ASCII Camera is designed from the ground up to respect your privacy. All image and video processing happens entirely on your device using the GPU. The app makes no network requests during normal use, the only optional network feature is the in-app feedback form.

Information We Collect

ASCII Camera collects no passive personal data, usage analytics, or crash reports. It contains no tracking code and no third-party SDKs. The only data we receive is what you voluntarily send through the in-app feedback form:

• Your feedback message and the category you select (Bug, Suggestion, or Other)
• Your app version and iOS version (to help diagnose reports)
• Your email address, only if you choose to enter one for a reply

Your device's IP address is visible to our feedback server as part of a standard HTTPS request. It is not logged or stored beyond the immediate connection.

Camera Access

ASCII Camera requires access to your device's camera to convert live video into ASCII art in real time. All camera processing is performed locally on your device using Apple's Metal framework. Camera data is never transmitted anywhere.

Microphone Access

ASCII Camera requests microphone access when you record a video, so that audio is captured alongside the ASCII video. Audio is recorded and stored entirely on your device. It is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Photos & Videos

Any photos or videos you capture are saved only to your device's local storage and photo library. We have no access to your photo library contents.

Feedback

The in-app feedback form (tap the info icon → Send Feedback) is entirely optional. When you submit feedback, your message, category, app version, and iOS version are sent over HTTPS to a processing service hosted on Cloudflare Workers at mail.analogtv.net, which forwards it to us by email. If you provide an email address, it is used only to reply to your feedback and is not added to any mailing list. We do not share feedback submissions with any third party.

Sharing

When you share a photo or video using the built-in iOS share sheet, it is handled entirely by iOS. Any third-party apps or services you share to have their own privacy policies, which are outside our control.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any information to third parties. The only data we ever receive is feedback you choose to send us, and that is never shared.

Children's Privacy

ASCII Camera is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

Because all data stays on your device, its security is determined by your device's own settings and protections (passcode, Face ID, encryption).

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the new version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
